Scott-Edwards

Robert
Scott-Edwards has served as President of ICON Central Laboratories
since August 2004. Prior to this appointment, he held the position
of Global Vice President of Sales and Marketing with the company
since May 1999. Mr. Scott-Edwards was the CEO of the company
acquired by ICON to form the expanded ICON Central Laboratories
in June 2000. Mr. Scott-Edwards started his career in the pharmaceutical
industry in 1971 when he joined Wyeth. He has also worked for
Schering AG, Searle, Pfizer and Bristol-Myers Squibb in roles
of increasing commercial responsibility that cover operations
in North America and Europe. His career at Bristol-Myers Squibb
spans 18 years, including five years as a Vice President. Additionally,
he has worked for businesses that support the industry, including
IMS International (Market research & data) and J. Walter
Thompson (Advertising & marketing). |
Peter Colaninno
Vice President, Global Laboratory

Peter
Colaninno received his MS in Medical Technology from St. John’s
University, Jamaica NY where he also completed his BS degree.
He has been on staff at ICON Laboratories since 1997 where he
served as Associate Director of the Infectious Disease Laboratory
until his appointment to his current position in June, 2005.
Prior to joining ICON Laboratories, Mr. Colaninno served as
Assistant Supervisor of the Bacteriology Laboratory at Mary
Immaculate Hospital and Assistant Divisional Supervisor for
the Mary Immaculate Hospital Division of Catholic Medical Center
of Brooklyn and Queens. His academic appointments include Adjunct
Professorships in the Physician’s Assistant Program at
Hofstra University, the Department of Biology at SUNY, Farmingdale,
NY, and the College of Allied Health Professions at St. John’s
University, where he was recipient of the 1998 Alumni Mentor
Recognition Award. He has authored or co-authored 20 professional
abstracts and publications and been a presenter at numerous
professional conferences and continuing education seminars.
Mr. Colaninno holds a New York City Supervisors Certificate
of Qualification and a New York City Technologist Certificate
of Qualification. In addition, he is board certified as a Medical
Technologist and a Specialist in Microbiology by the American
Society of Clinical Pathologists and is also certified by the
National Certification Agency for Medical Laboratory Personnel.

Dr. Joseph Schappert
Medical Director

Dr.
Schappert joined ICON Central Laboratories in June, 2007 with
25 years of experience in Laboratory Medicine. In his position
as Medical Director, he oversees clinical laboratory regulatory,
quality and strategic issues worldwide, and provides clients
with support in designing appropriate laboratory testing strategies
for successful protocol development.
Previously, Dr. Schappert was the Vice
Chair of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Beth Israel
Medical Center and St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital Center in
Manhattan. He also served as the Program Director for the
Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Residency Training Program.
He has extensive expertise in infectious disease testing,
cardiac markers, coagulation testing, laboratory informatics,
laboratory automation, and molecular diagnostics. Dr. Schappert
has published and has presented on these subjects at local,
national, and international conferences. He has also worked
with many of the major diagnostic companies in clinical trials
and on advisory boards.
Dr. Schappert earned his B.A. from the
University of Notre Dame and his medical degree from the University
of Bologna in Italy. |
Denise Legenzoff
Vice President, Client Services

Denise
Legenzoff joined ICON Central Laboratories in her current position
in February 2005 from Sepracor, Inc. where she held the position
of Senior Director of Clinical Operations, Central Services.
She has served as Manager of Clinical Affairs for Medical and
Technical Research Associates (MTRA), Clinical Research Project
Manager for LifeScan, Inc., Manager of Product Development for
Abaxis, Inc., and Research Scientist for Technicon Instruments
Corporation and Baker Instruments Corporation. In addition to
her clinical development experience, Ms. Legenzoff has extensive
clinical laboratory experience that includes serving as Supervisor
at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, OH and Instructor
and Education Coordinator for the Medical Technology schools
at the University of Maryland and Catholic University in Washington,
DC. She holds a BS degree in Medical Technology from Gannon
University in Erie, PA and a MA degree in Curriculum and Instruction
from West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV. She is also
MT (ASCP) certified. |
James Meringolo
Vice President, Finance and Administration

James
Meringolo joined ICON Laboratories, Inc. (ICON) in 1996 and
held several financial and management positions in the company
prior to being named Vice President of Finance and Administration
in 2004. Prior to joining ICON Mr. Meringolo was a Senior Financial
Analyst in the Financial Reporting Department at Barnes &
Noble, Inc. in Westbury, New York and a Senior Accountant with
Eisner LLP in New York, New York. Mr. Meringolo holds a BA degree
in public accounting from Pace University in New York, New York. |
John Reinert
Vice President, Information Technology

John
Reinert has been with ICON Central Laboratories and its predecessor
company, UCT International, since 1994. Prior to being named
to his current position, he served as MIS Operations Manager,
Director and Assist Vice President of IT Operations and Data
Management for the company. Prior to joining ICON, Mr. Reinert
was a Partner for the computer consulting company, WorkTime
Industries, and General Operations Manager for Microforce, Inc.
Mr. Reinert holds a BS from Dowling College and multiple certifications
in IT systems applications. |
Stephanie Talbott
Vice President, Global Business Development

Stephanie
Talbott joined ICON Laboratories (ICON) in 2001, where she served
as Director of Business Development and Vice President of North
American Sales before assuming her current executive responsibilities
in early 2006. Prior to joining ICON, she was Director of Clinical
Sales for North America and Asia Pacific at Covance Inc., where
she also held the position of Director of Sales for Specialty
Services. In addition, Ms. Talbott has served as Associate Director,
Research and Regulatory Services at Premier Research Worldwide,
Director of Business Development for NDA Clinical Trial Services
and Director of Corporate Accounts for Pharmaceutical Laboratory
Services, Inc., where she also held the position of General
Manager. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology
from the University of Cincinnati and is MT (ASCP) certified. |
James Wagner
Vice President, Technical Services

James
Wagner has been with ICON Central Laboratories and its predecessor
company, UCTI, since 1993. In addition to his current position,
he has served as Director of Quality Assurance, Quality Assurance
Manager and Project Manager with the company. Prior to his tenure
with ICON, Mr. Wagner was a principal owner and held the position
of Laboratory Operations Manager at Acculab in Deer Park NY.
He holds a MS degree in Medical Technology from the CW Post
Center of Long Island University and a BS in Clinical Chemistry
from NY Institute of Technology. He is ASCP Certified and has
been designated as a Certified Quality Auditor by the American
Society of Quality. |
Bill
Liggan
Director, Human Resources

Bill
Liggan joined ICON Central Laboratories in 2004. In his current
position he is responsible for developing and implementing strategic
and tactical HR plans and oversees all HR functions for the
company. Prior to joining ICON, he served as Director of Human
Resources for Twinlab, Human Resources Supervisor for Invensys
and Staffing Specialist for Olympus and Canon USA. He also serves
as a Lecturer and On-line Instructor in the Schools of Business
and Professional Development at Stony Brook University, Stony
Brook, NY. Mr. Liggan is a certified Senior Professional in
Human Resources (SPHR) and holds a Master of Professional Studies
in Labor Management from Stony Brook University and a BA in
Human Relations from St. Joseph’s College, Patchogue,
NY. |
Clare O’Sullivan
General Manager, Dublin Laboratory

Clare
O’Sullivan has served as General Manager for ICON Central
Laboratories’ European facility in Dublin, Ireland since
early 2006, having previously held positions with ICON as Laboratory
Manager and Quality Assurance Manager. Prior to her experience
at ICON Central Laboratories, Ms. O’Sullivan was employed
by Quintiles and Tibotec-Virco, a division of Johnson &
Johnson where she was involved in data management, quality assurance
and regulatory compliance. Ms. O’Sullivan has a BSc and
MSC in Microbiology from University College, Cork, Ireland.

Melissa Vozza
Director, Quality Assurance

Melissa
Vozza has been with ICON Central Laboratories since 2001. She
previously served as the company’s IT Compliance Officer
and Manager and Director of the IT Systems Validation and Regulatory
Compliance Department. Prior to joining ICON, Ms. Vozza served
as a Special Consultant and Manager of Quality Assurance for
Mediware Information Systems in Melville, New York. She holds
a BS in Medical Laboratory Science from the University of Massachusetts
at Dartmouth, an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Regulatory
Affairs from San Diego State University and is completing a
Masters of Science degree in Regulatory Affairs from Northeastern
University. She also successfully completed graduate requirements
in Biomedical Science. Ms. Vozza is NCA certified as a Clinical
Laboratory Scientist and holds NY State License as a Medical
Technologist. |
