Central Laboratories’ commitment to quality assurance
permeates every facet of our operations worldwide. Our Quality
Assurance program is supported by a corporate Quality Assurance
Department that reports directly to our company’s President.
This department has global authority for monitoring compliance
with all corporate quality standards and operating procedures
as well as study-specific standards.
ICON Central Laboratories is
accredited by the College of American Pathologists and holds
all licenses and certifications required to operate in the
many jurisdictions we serve. We are also pleased to have led
the central laboratory industry in obtaining ISO 17025 certification.
This certification requires meeting high standards in every
aspect of laboratory management, ranging from sample preparation
to analytical testing proficiency and record keeping. Our
achievement in this area offers further assurance to our clients
of our laboratories’ rigorous quality and technical
competency.

Setting the Industry Standard
Upon completion of a series of clinical trials for a major
pharmaceutical company, the ICON Central Laboratories project
team visited the client’s U.S. headquarters to participate
in a "lessons learned" meeting.
Each member of the ICON team was pleased
to hear the consistently high praise from the sponsor regarding
study support and management. However, the highlight of the
day came when the head of the data management group thanked
the team and noted that "ICON Laboratories’ data
validation and quality assurance processes are the gold standard
by which we have come to judge all other central labs." |
